Understanding the Global Point System

How do Global Points work -
Global points are a ranking of all ASF members in a given division, based upon
their top 5 results throughout the competition season.

How do I get to the US Championship
Slots to the US Championships for non-SA Prime Divisions are
based upon a surfers Global Points ranking at the time slots are issued by
Surfing America. SA Prime Divisions must qualify through SA Prime events.
Slots to the Prime events are determined by a surfers Global Points ranking at
the time slots are issued to the Prime events by Surfing America.

How do I get to the ASF Championships
Slots to the ASF Championships are issued 2 ways – 25% of
the slots in a given division are based upon a surfers year end Global points
ranking. These surfers will be slotted into the second round of the ASF
Championships. The remaining 75% of the slots will be allocated to the
chapters to be awarded to the highest ranking surfers in each Chapter.
